This Board Bill seeks to approve a Chapter 99 Redevelopment Plan and Blighting Study for the 5105 Cabanne Ave. Redevelopment Area. The project consists of the renovation of a single-family building in the Academy neighborhood. The prospective redeveloper acquired the property for $56,000 and plans on renovating the building consisting of 4 bedrooms units and 3.5 bathrooms at the cost of $305,000. The redeveloper plans to utilize private funds and historic tax credits for this project. Based on the Recommended Abatement Map approved October 26, 2018 by Board of Aldermen Resolution 104, the staff recommends a 10-year tax abatement based on 75% of the assessed value of the of the incremental improvements.
