The Board of Election Commissioners for the City of St. Louis (the “BEC”) is accepting applications for the position of Republican Director of Elections. JOB TITLE: Republican Director of Elections.
REPORTS TO: Board of Election Commissioners.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Political Science, Public Administration, or another closely related field from an accredited college or university is preferred; graduate degree is desirable. A bi-partisan spirit, an ability to strategize and build coalitions, strong management supervisory skills and experience, and excellent communication skills (written and oral) are also necessary. Experience in working with or in county level government, as well as familiarity with project management principles, are helpful.
RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to those noted in the job description, the Republican and Democratic Directors of Elections serve as the Chief Executive Officers of the BEC. Together they are responsible for developing and recommending program goals and objectives and implementing policies, procedures and courses of action to enable the BEC to conduct elections in the City of St. Louis in compliance with federal, state and municipal laws, rules and regulations. The Directors jointly manage and oversee all office operations, including all budget, personnel and IT functions, and directly supervise the work of the Deputy and Assistant Deputy Directors, and indirectly oversee the work of the departments supervised by them. Both Directors of Elections are administratively responsible to and work under the general supervision of the four Commissioners appointed by the Governor.
SALARY: $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year.

Be a member of the Republican Party. RSMO Section 115.047.
Be a registered voter and resident of the City of St. Louis for at least one year preceding his/her employment by the Board.
Take and subscribe an oath to support the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Missouri and to demean him/herself faithfully and impartially. RSMO Sections 115.047 and 115.033.
Pass a criminal background check.
