Obtain a Real Estate Tax Receipt

Instructions for how to find City of St. Louis real estate tax payment history, print a tax receipt and/or proceed to payment.

Overview

Real estate tax bills are issued in early November.

Duplicate real estate tax receipts are available online or in person at the Collector of Revenue's Office.

Real estate tax receipts may be needed when preparing tax documents or to claim deductions. 

Preparation

You will need:

  • Real estate/property address, or
  • Collector of Revenue account number or property parcel ID, or
  • Name of property owner

Instructions

In Person

Visit the Collector of Revenue's Office at:

1200 Market St, Room 109
St. Louis, MO 63103

Online

  1. Use the Begin Online button to search by address, account number or name.
  2. On the detail page for the account, use the "Print Tax Bill" link to print a receipt for tax years paid. 
  3. If taxes are due, click the "Pay at payitSt.Louis" link. You will be redirected to the PayIt payment portal. You will need your account number to proceed with payment. 
    1.  If you are a current PayIt user, log in.
    2. If not, sign up or "continue as guest."

Fees

There is no charge for receipts obtained in person or online.

 

What to Expect

Receive your real estate tax receipt for the year needed.

When paying a balance through PayIt:

  • Signing up with PayIt will retain a history of your payment transactions.
  • When proceeding as a guest in PayIt, it is recommended to print a confirmation of your transaction for your records.
