Employee of the Year 2014: Antionette Thomas

Comptroller's Office Employee of the Year for 2014.

Antionette photoEmployee of the Year for 2014! That's Antionette Thomas, who was also named our Employee of the Month for June 2014. Antionette is a Payroll Specialist II in the Payroll Section (City Hall). She's been with the City for nearly 16 years (since March 1999), but joined the Comptroller's Office in September 2002.

In her role as Payroll Specialist II, Antionette helps process payroll for the City of St. Louis and distributes reports for the various departments. Her job includes a lot of data entry. She says the best part about her job is that she gets to "help others and burst and separate the reports to be sent to other departments." She takes ownership in the handling and accuracy of the reports.

Antionette was selected as Employee of the Month in June due to her stepping up to the plate and taking on extra duties because of a staff shortage earlier this year. Her co-workers say she "always goes above and beyond every single day."

Our Employee of the Year is chosen during the Comptroller's Office annual holiday party. All Employees of the Month are eligible for the random drawing. For being chosen, Antionette will receive 8 hours of compensatory (comp) time. Congratulations on being named our Employee of the Year for 2014 and keep up the fantastic work!
