March 2015: Carlotta Blair is Employee of the Month

Comptroller's Office Employee of the Month for March 2015.

Carlotta Blair

Carlotta Blair recently celebrated 20 years of working with the City of St. Louis. And now, she can also celebrate being named our March 2015 Employee of the Month! Carlotta works as an Administrative Assistant I. She's located in City Hall, Room 311.

Carlotta has worked for the City for more than 20 years—she's been with the Comptroller's Office since October 2007. In this role, she provides administrative support for the Deputy Comptroller and the Administrative Assistant II. She also assists the Administrative Office when the Contract Compliance Officer is absent. Other duties include typing and drafting a wide variety of reports, letters, memoranda and forms. Carlotta also prepares requisitions, wires and vouchers for the department. She prepares contract/lease purchase agreements for items such as copiers and mats. And lastly, she prepares the list of departmental transfers to be approved or disapproved by the Board of E & A and then returns them to the requesting department.

Carlotta says the best part of her job is "knowing that what I do is important and it is part of helping our department's wheel to keep turning."

When she's not hard at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and loved ones. She also enjoying writing poetry and reading in her spare time. Carlotta says she has many aspirations and an entrepreneurial spirit. She says, "I have always wanted to go back and do something to benefit the neighborhood I grew up in by opening a community center that gears toward motivation and goal setting. So many of us do not know how to reach back and help pull someone else forward. I have not begun to do all of the planning, but I keep a journal of these goals and new ideas."

Congratulations Carlotta, on your 20-year anniversary with the City and for once again being named our Employee of the Month!
