Make a Payment to the Office of the Medical Examiner

You will need to contact the Office of the Medical Examiner first to request the record you need. Once your record is ready, the office will contact you with the amount due.

Pay in Person

You can visit the office and pay by credit card, cash, business or cashier check, or money order. Personal checks are not accepted.

Checks and money orders may be made out to the City of St. Louis Medical Examiner.

Pay Online

1. Use the Begin Online button to visit the PayIt website.
2. Choose PayIt Login if you have an account, or Pay as Guest.
3. Enter the Case Number or GovQA Number if you have one, or use the first and last name and email address you gave the office when you requested the record.
4. Enter the Payment Amount as provided in your Records Request Approval Email.
5. Add to Cart and Check Out.

Pay by Mail

Send a money order, cashier’s check or business check made out to City of St. Louis Medical Examiner. No personal checks or cash will be accepted. Include the decedent’s name, case number if you have it, and your name and address.

Payment processing fees will be displayed before you complete your transaction. 

• Online payments are processed immediately.
• Confirmation is provided on screen and by email.

• Your record will be sent to you within 3 business days via your selected delivery method.

You can use the online system to prepay for one or more cremation letters.
