Filing Requirements for St. Louis Public Schools Board of Education

Qualifications, provisions and procedures for individuals filing to run for St. Louis Public Schools Board of Education

Qualifications to File

  • At least twenty-four (24) years of age
  • Citizen of the United States
  • Resident of the City of St. Louis
  • Must have been a resident and citizen of the City of St. Louis for at least three (3) years immediately preceding election.
  • Shall not hold any office in the city or state, except that of notary public.
  • Shall not be interested in any contract with or claim against the board, either directly or indirectly.

Provisions for Nomination

To file for Board of Education, you must:

  1. File a Declaration of Candidacy in person at the Board of Election Commissioners during the filing period.
  2. Pay a filing fee of $100.00 at the time of filing.
  3. Provide proof of identity at the time of filing.
  4. Affirm that you meet the qualifications for the office.
