Before filing, you will need to find your case on Municourt.
Search by Name
- To search by Name, you will need your last name, your first name and your year of birth. (Do not enter your full date of birth).
- Complete all required fields. (All fields with a “*” next to them).
- Select the court from the drop down menu. Select “St. Louis City Municipal Court” or “ALL participating muni courts."
- Check “I am not a robot” if required.
- Click “Search."
Search by Case Number
To search by case/ticket number, you will need the case number shown on your citation. For traffic tickets, the number will be at the upper right hand corner of the citation.
- Complete all required fields. (All fields with a “*” next to them).
- Select the court from the drop down menu. Select “St. Louis City Municipal Court.”
- Check “I am not a robot” if required.
- Click “Search.”
The search result will display cases that match your search criteria, along with the current court date.
Instructions
- For the case you wish to file on, choose the Request Court Action button at the right of the search result.
- From the three choices then displayed choose Request by Attorney for New Court Date. This option will allow you to file documents in the case, such as entries of appearance, motions for continuance, and motions to recall warrants. It is not limited to new date requests.
- On the next pages, verify your email address and fill in the required fields. Then scroll down to the Upload Documents section.
- You can upload up to three documents. Select the type of document you wish to file in the Select Document Type drop down menu, such as Entry of Appearance, warrant recall, Other attachment, etc. You may also include Comments for this File for the court clerk.
- If you are seeking a continuance, please include the current court date and session in Comments. Then Choose File for the file you want to upload from your local drive.
- If you are filing documents, and are not requesting a new date, select the radio button for “Do not continue the case(s) to a new Court Date’ under Virtual Court Appearance Date Option.
- Check the Read Statement of Rights box and click on “Submit Request.”

What to Expect
Successfully uploaded documents will be filed in your case in REJIS/IMDSPlus. If you are filing a motion, your motion will be referred to a judge for consideration.

Instructions
Once you have found your case, login to Case.net, and click on the tab for Docket Entries. Click on the link “Click here to eFile on Case.” You will be able to eFile your document as you would in any other case. Instructions for eFlling are here.
You may also use QuickFile to file preformatted entries of appearance, motions for continuance and other documents in Case.net. Step by step instructions for using QuickFile are available at courts.mo.gov.
QuickFile is also available in the eFiling drop down menu at the top of the screen when you have found your case.

What to Expect
When you have submitted your document for eFiling, Case.net will send an email to your registered eFiling email address confirming receipt of the filing. Case.net will also send an email confirming when your document has been accepted by the court for filing.
