BI-WEEKLY SALARY RANGE: MINIMUM: $1,403 MAXIMUM: $2,341
Applicants who meet the minimum experience and training requirements will start at $1,403 bi-weekly. Applicants who have successfully completed a bona fide apprenticeship program registered with the Department of Labor and obtained journeyman status will start at $1,653 bi-weekly. Proof of successful completion of a bona fide apprenticeship program registered with the Department of Labor and journeyman status must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment.

An Associate's degree or completion of a two year training program in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating Technology from a recognized trade school or junior college; plus three years of experience in the diagnosis, installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning and heating systems doing commercial and institutional HVAC service and installation work. OR, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certification: Candidates must be certified in EPA Standards at the Universal level (Type I, II and III) for refrigeration handling.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver’s license will be required to present a “Driving Record Check” from their State’s Department of Motor Vehicles.
Documentation of academic credentials, certification in EPA Standards and proof of completion of a bona fide apprenticeship program registered with the Department of Labor and journeyman status (if applicable) must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of the medical examination.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificates of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion accept alternate documentation.
