HOURLY SALARY: $24.70
Positions are paid on an hourly basis, are not eligible for the Employee Benefits Program and do not require City residency.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position operate, maintain and repair stationary engines and mechanical equipment to provide utilities or power for buildings and industrial processes. Work involves shift, weekend and holiday assignments; therefore, candidates must be available for shift work.

Licenses: Applicants must possess and maintain all of the following while employed by the City of St. Louis: a current Stationary Engineer’s License (Class 1) issued by the City of St. Louis and a valid driver's license. Copies of licenses must be submitted with the Employment Application. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver's license must also submit a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of recent full-time paid experience in the operation of high pressure boilers, chillers in excess of 500 tons, building automation systems, emergency generators or related equipment.

MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of the medical examination.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
