Salary

  • Minimum: $42,328.00
  • Maximum: $60,866.00

Incumbents who meet the minimum experience and training requirements will start at $42,328 annually. Journeymen in an appropriate skilled trade who have completed an apprenticeship program registered by the Department of Labor or equivalent will start at $47,684 annually. Proof of completion of a registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program and Journeyman status must be submitted at the time of filing the Employment Application or upon request.

This position is selected for the Hiring Incentive Program. The incentive shall be in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1500.00). The hiring incentive will be paid (if funds are available) by the Department/Division which appoints the applicant.

Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position design, program, install, maintain and repair radio, electronic and mechanical control systems and system instruments and devices requiring an in-depth knowledge of computer-based control systems design and programming.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or completion of a two-year training program in electronics from a recognized trade school; OR two years of experience maintaining and repairing Building Automation Control Systems.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis.  Must be able to present valid driver's license upon request.  Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.  

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:  Previous experience installing, maintaining and repairing traffic control systems, instruments and devices.
