Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for reading, recording and assessing water meter information.

One year of experience reading meters for a public utility; OR one year of experience working in the trades, construction or landscaping fields where knowledge of reading meters for a public utility can be acquired. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the time of the Performance Test. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Performance Test based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a “Drug Screen Test” as part of the medical examination.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Performance Test. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
