Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position are responsible for documenting infectious disease (e.g., HIV, AIDS, STDs, etc.) cases and assisting with required reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant health care, biological science, or social science curriculum; OR four years of professional experience with the public health investigation and surveillance of communicable diseases. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis.  Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview.  Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.  Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver's license must present a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles.

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview. 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge of disease surveillance databases. Knowledge of HIV/AIDS etiology and disease progression. Previous experience working with the public health investigation and surveillance of communicable diseases.
