This position is selected for the Hiring Incentive Program. The incentive shall be in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1500.00). The hiring incentive will be paid (if funds are available) by the Department/Division which appoints the applicant.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining and repairing City facilities, equipment and systems in a variety of trades areas.

Three years of experience in the facilities maintenance trade. Experience must demonstrate proficiency in facility trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or locksmith. OR an Associate’s degree in facility maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical engineering or a closely related field; plus one year of experience in the facilities maintenance trade. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Some positions may require certification for refrigerant removal from appliances such as air conditioners, freezers and refrigerators.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver's license will be required to present a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles.
Positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport require shift, weekend, holiday and mandatory overtime assignments. Candidates must provide their availability for shift and weekend assignments on the Availability Section of the Employment Application.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of the medical examination.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year background investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
