Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position supervise towing field operations and personnel. Duties include receiving towing orders, dispatching operators and responding to claims and accidents.

Two years of experience in the operation of a tow truck in a large towing service operation. Qualifying experience must be within the last five years. OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) at time of filing Employment Application. Please note type of license, number, class, and expiration date on the Employment Application.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, experience and training as listed on the Employment Application. Complete the Employment History and Education/Training History sections of the Employment Application even if you submit a resume. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment on the application. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered.
MEDICAL: The pre-employment medical exam will include a drug screen and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing will be conducted in accordance with D.O.T. regulations.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
