City residency requirement may be waived for this position.
Incumbents who meet the minimum experience and training requirements will start at $39,936 annually. Journeyman who have completed an apprenticeship program registered by the Department of Labor or equivalent will start at $52,208 annually. Proof of completion of a registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program and Journeyman status must be submitted at time of filing the Employment Application or upon request of the Department of Personnel.
Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for supervising crews engaged in construction, installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, buildings and building systems. Duties also include performance of such functions as needed. Candidates must be available for shift, holiday, weekend and overtime assignments.

Five years of experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Worker. OR two years of experience as a Stationary Engineer.
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present license upon request. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in interpreting and working from blueprints and mechanical specifications. Some supervisory experience.

Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year character investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions with the Airport Authority.
