Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position act as lead workers in investigating, assessing and providing intervention services to clients with sexually transmitted diseases.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Care Administration, Social Work, Community Health Education, or a related field; plus two years of public health experience in the communicable disease field.  OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present license upon request. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. 

Candidates must be willing to train and perform counseling and testing services which include drawing blood and obtaining specimens for HIV, STD and Viral Hepatitis screenings.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:  A Master’s degree in one of the above fields and experience in communicable disease program planning and outbreak investigation.  Experience with data management and analysis.  Phlebotomy trained and/or certified in Missouri to perform Alere Clearview and OraSure OraQuick HCV test methods.
