Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for managing a recreation facility, developing programs, and coordinating staff. Duties include supervising Recreation Leaders, Assistants and programs; planning staff assignments and schedules; operating after school programs; refereeing sports; and creating, implementing, and promoting programs.

A Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, Leisure Services or related field. OR an Associates degree plus two years of recreation program experience. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Previous supervisory experience in a recreation program is preferred.
