Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for managing the overall accounting functions for major City departments or divisions in a specific area such as grants management or finance. The incumbent may be responsible for developing and recommending new and revised statutes, rules, policies, and procedures to respond to changes in operational/program needs, objectives, and priorities and to improve the effectiveness of managed operations/programs. Incumbents supervise professional accountants and support staff.

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or Public Administration or a related field; plus five years of financial management experience including at least two years in a supervisory capacity. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
