Nature of Work
This is a management position within the City Counselor’s Office responsible for supervising, planning, organizing, and directing the work of a particular unit. Responsibilities include the management and oversight of attorneys and support staff; drafting and reviewing legal documents; performing complex legal research and providing legal advice and opinions to directors or commissioners.

Graduation from a school of law approved by the American Bar Association; current membership in the Missouri Bar in good standing or licensure in another state with eligibility for reciprocity in Missouri; plus seven years of progressively responsible legal practice.
Documentation of License to practice law must be submitted upon request.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Some previous supervisory/management experience in a legal practice setting.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the oral interview based on an evaluation of their experience and education as listed on the employment application. Be certain to complete the Employment History and Educational/Training History Sections of the employment application. Resumes will not substitute for a fully completed employment application.
