Incumbents in this position apply public health and epidemiological principles to environmental health issues affecting the St. Louis metro area. Duties include: developing data collection tools for surveys; collecting, managing, manipulating and analyzing data; applies statistical (descriptive and inferential) methodologies and applies GIS applications in report outputs. Responsible for developing epidemiology briefs and programmatic reports related to Environmental Health and assists with program performance evaluation using the Health Equity Eye.

A Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or related field; plus six months of professional experience in public health epidemiology which includes investigation, analysis, prevention, surveillance and/or control of disease.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. Experience with data management and analysis OR survey software/applications OR education in performing community health assessments and improvement plans OR working knowledge and experience with GIS applications or any combination thereof is highly preferred.

An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points. City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points.
