Mission Statement of the St. Louis City Division of Corrections

Mission Statement:

The Policy Development and Compliance Unit -  Office of the Commissioner - is response for ensuring, through a system of research, committee review and revision, and technical assistance, that the policy and procedures of the Division of Corrections comply with statutory regulations, City of St. Louis Department of Personnel Administration regulations, national standards as issued by the American Correctional Association, and all appropriate outside agency regulations.  Adherence to such regulations promotes improved and efficient management practices in our facilities, ultimately leading to enhanced public safety, a safe and productive work environment for staff, and confinement  in a humane setting for the inmates.
