Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position are responsible for performing and supervising work crews performing a variety of maintenance, construction, forestry or refuse collection duties through subordinate personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience as a foreman or supervisor in street, grounds, forestry, facilities maintenance or refuse collection or related work.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis.  Must possess license at the time of filing application and be able to present it at the Oral Interview.  Some positions may require a valid Missouri Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B).  Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application. 

When completing the application, please be as thorough as possible when describing your experience, training and education relating to this position, particularly your experience with street, grounds, forestry or facilities maintenance  and any experience with driving heavy and specialized vehicles.  Applicants must provide explanation for all changes in employment and any gaps in their employment history on the application. VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS:  To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.  The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
