Salary

  • Minimum: $41,730.00
  • Maximum: $65,234.00

Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position are responsible for performing highly complex clinical laboratory testing and analysis procedures on secured evidence for the purposes of identification and to prepare written reports of those findings. Incumbents provide functional guidance to less experienced Criminalists and lab personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, or a closely related field; plus one year of experience in a forensic lab working with DNA and/or trace evidence analysis, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics and statistics. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis.  Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request.  Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.

Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.

MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug/Alcohol Screen" as a part of the medical examination.
