Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for developing, coordinating and supervising all communications and public affairs efforts for a large City department or agency. Incumbents act as a spokesperson and liaison for the department or agency. The current vacancy is at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Examples of duties include managing all communications and public affairs, including written materials, media relations, public events, customer service programs, social media and various internal and external communications. This incumbent reports to the Director of Airports.

A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field; plus five years of experience in public relations or journalism with strong communication and presentation skills which includes experience in developing and coordinating public information programs for a large organization. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Employees assigned to St. Louis Lambert International Airport may be eligible for commuting allowance of $141.00 bi-weekly. A ten year character investigation will be conducted in accordance with FAA regulations for positions with the Airport Authority.
