Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position provide technical assistance for meeting compliance standards with the City’s Building Energy Awareness and Building Energy Performance Standards programs. Duties include conducting outreach and training related to benchmarking, energy efficiency, building performance standards and green leasing; assisting with analyses of large building data sets; working with building inspectors to coordinate and verify benchmarking exemption claims, working with building owners on benchmarking reporting extension requests and alternative compliance plans, and overseeing the issuance of citations for ordinance violations.

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in a related field and experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. Experience working in the public sector with energy conservation and benchmarking programs.
