Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for sorting, picking up and delivering mail and parcels to City offices. Other duties include performing simple clerical tasks and operating postage metering machines and other mail processing equipment.

Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of filing application. Must be able to read, write legibly, perform basic mathematical calculations and understand oral and written instructions. Must be able to lift. 50 lbs, walk indoor and outside mail routes in all types of weather while carrying a mailbag and safely operate an automobile and van.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing the Employment Application. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.
When completing the Employment History and the Educational/Training History sections of the Employment Application, please be as thorough as possible when describing your education, training and experience relating to this position. Your employment experience and training will be used to determine whether you meet the entrance requirements for this position and to compute your experience and training evaluation. MEDICAL: Candidates will be required to pass a "Drug Screen" as part of their medical examination.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
