Position Specifications

Incumbents in this position conduct initial assessments, intakes, and provides referrals to and contacts for community resource services for individuals with respect to FCSH Programs. In particular, this position will focus on Show Me Healthy Women Wise Woman (SMHWWW)/Healthy Homes/Maternal Child Health (MCH).  Duties include Identifying and seeking new opportunities to educate and reach targeted populations (i.e., children, parents, pregnant women, minorities, and those with limited English proficiency); participating in local, region-wide, and state-wide meetings; assisting in completing and reporting quality improvements while conducting appropriate periodic follow-up with families receiving lead, asthma, smoking cessation, and other health services; maintaining client records and information; assisting in special projects development.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, social services, anthropology, or medical/behavioral science; plus one year of related experience in a public health environment OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

License:  Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license while employed by the City of St. Louis.  Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application. Please note type of license, number, class, and expiration date on the Employment Application.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:  Excellent verbal communication skills; experience providing consultation, outreach, education, and public messaging.

CITY RESIDENTS PREFERENCE POINTS: City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam. An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points. City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points.
