Zoning Changes Regulating Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
Summary
An Ordinance recommended by the Planning Commission amending the Zoning Code to define, permit, and regulate Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs); and containing an emergency clause. This board bill aims to reduce barriers to the development of ADUs in the city as a means to expand the diversity and supply of housing options. The bill establishes definitions for Attached and Detached ADUs, permits them by right in all residential zones, and establishes site requirements specific to the use.
