Statement from Mayor Tishaura O. Jones on Verdict in Ahmaud Arbery Case
While this verdict is a victory in the movement for accountability, it is not true justice.

"I’m heartened by today’s decision and hope it provides comfort and solace to Ahmaud Arbery’s family. While this verdict is a victory in the movement for accountability, it is not true justice.
"Justice looks like a country where Black people like Ahmaud don’t lose their lives to racist hatred and murder, where we can raise our children without fear, and where every wannabe vigilante is held accountable for their crimes.
"I remain committed to doing the work necessary here in St. Louis to put us on that path towards a better, fairer future, no matter your zip code or the color of your skin."
