General Information

The City of St. Louis contracted with St. Louis Composting Inc. in September 2009 to manage its composting operations.

Wood and yard waste generated by the Forestry Division and other applicable City agencies is processed at this site.  

City residents may also drop off residential yard waste at this site. A dump fee will be charged and is based on the size of the load. The site will only accept woody material consisting of logs, branches or brush along with leaves and grass clippings.  

Mulch and compost is also for sale at this site from St. Louis Composting Inc.  

City residents are allowed to drop off residential yard waste consisting of one pick-up truck at this site for no fee on designated dates throughout the year.   

Individuals must provide proof of City residency in the form a valid driver's license, state identification card or personal property tax receipt.

Free wood chips and compost are also available for City residents at select sites. A link is provided below to a list of those sites or City residents can call the Forestry Division at 314-613-7200 for locations.
