Forestry Vegetation

Learn about regulations and guidance relating to weeds, native plants, and other vegetation on properties in the City.

Overview

Ordinance 72059, adopted in 2026, brings a balanced approach to vegetation management in the City. All plants are allowed in the City, as long as they are managed, except nuisance, invasive, and noxious plants according to the Missouri Department of Conservation, and any plants listed as impermissible below. If an occupied property has unmanaged vegetation growth, then the city may send a violation letter, abate the issue and issue a fine with due notice.
