Roles and responsibilities of the Cultural Resources Office staff

Overview

The Cultural Resources Office is headed by the Cultural Resources Director who reports to the Executive Director of the Planning & Urban Design Agency. The staff is composed of a Preservation Administrator who supervises the work of two Preservation Planners, and an Administrative Assistant who serves as the Secretary to the Preservation Board.

The CRO staff reviews permits for exterior alterations, new construction, and demolitions for City Landmarks and in Local Historic Districts, and demolitions within Preservation Review Areas and National Register Districts. Appeals of staff decisions are made to the Preservation Board.
