2025 Sustainability and Climate Plan Adopted
The 2025 Sustainability and Climate Plan was adopted as part of the City's Comprehensive Plan by the Planning Commission on October 8th, 2025. This planning process was led by the City's Sustainability Director, Elysia Russell. This citywide plan is a five-year strategic roadmap that prioritizes how the City can build the systems and capacity to address climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and prepare for severe climate impacts while taking action to build a healthy, resilient, and safe city.
2013 Sustainability Plan
2013 Sustainability Plan Adopted
The plan was adopted as a Topical Plan by the Planning Commission on January 9, 2013. It is the City's first sustainability plan. The planning process was led by Catherine Werner, the City's Sustainability Director. The citywide plan includes hundreds of strategies to advance sustainability in the City. Following adoption of the Sustainability Plan, Mayor Slay released his Sustainability Action Agenda for the City. These 29 action items will be priorities for implementation by 2018.
