Apply for a Water Wagon

The Water Wagon provides drinking water for the public through eight (8) bubblers, two (2) standard, threaded garden hose bib hook-ups and a low faucet on the rear for filling pet water bowls.

The Water Wagon may be reserved for short-term community functions (usually 1-2 days for school picnics, neighborhood festivals, etc).

The Water Wagon is attached to the fire hydrant by the Water Division and is removed by the Water Division. We have various sections of hose that can be attached, so it does not have to be right next to the hydrant. However, we cannot cross the hose over sidewalks or other pedestrian or biking paths, or through any area that would create a major trip hazard. Also, it cannot be parked in the grass.

1. Requests must be made a minimum of 7 business days in advance. Please plan accordingly.
2. Download, print and fill out the Water Wagon application. You'll need to provide the following information:
   • Date & time Water Wagon needs to be installed (ex. Install by 8:00 a.m. 4/1/22).
     • The Water Division does not install or remove the Water Wagon on weekends or holidays. If the Water Wagon is not needed until Saturday or Sunday, it will be installed the prior Friday. The permit holder will be responsible for the Water Wagon regardless of the length of time between installation and removal.
   • Date and time Water Wagon needs to be removed (ex. Remove by 5:00 p.m. 4/1/22).
   • Location of fire hydrant to be used for Water Wagon (ex. NE corner of Kingshighway & McRee). The water wagon attaches directly to the fire hydrant.
   • Reason for Water Wagon (ex. ABC School Event, XYZ Neighborhood Festival, etc).
   • Name, address, and phone number of person responsible for Water Wagon.
3. Prepare a check to pay the fees, which are listed below.

Please make check payable to: City of St. Louis Water Division. No cash or credit cards accepted.

• $400.00 deposit in advance of installation.
• $50.00 to install Water Wagon.
• $50.00 to remove Water Wagon.

The remainder will be refunded assuming that no damage or theft has occurred to the Water Wagon. When the Water Wagon is returned to our facility, a request is sent to the Finance Department to process the refund. It can take 4-6 weeks from the time the work order is closed out until the refund check is mailed.

The water division will contact you to confirm your request. You may want to be present for the installation in case the installer is concerned about the location you've chosen and wants to choose an alternate location, but your presence is not mandatory.
