Resources
- Showcases the Forestry Division's operations.
- Provides pick up sites for free wood, wood chips, and compost, as well as drop off sites for compost.
- Offers submissions to plant new trees on public property.
Project Blitz and Cleaning St. Louis - Brightside STL
- Borrow free gardening tools, trash cleanup tools, carts, and bags to help clean up streets, alleys, vacant lots, and public areas.
- In the spring, groups with registered Blitz Projects are eligible to request free annual flower seedlings for planting in public spaces (medians, neighborhood entrances, street barricades, tree lawns, etc.) in the City of St. Louis.
Plant Finder - Missouri Botanical Garden
- Find Missouri Natives you are interested in planting using the quick search feature
- Get even more specific by filtering based on your desired maintenance levels, plant conditions, uses, pollinators you’d like to attract, etc.
Upcoming Brightside STL Events
- Events hosted by Brightside STL, including Project Blitzes and upcoming workshops on landscaping.
- Through the Neighbors Naturescaping program, Brightside STL offers native plants and tools to St. Louis groups interested in a naturescaping project in the City of St. Louis.
- Get up to $1,500 for natural landscaping.
- These projects can be in any public space and some nonprofit spaces in the City of St. Louis.
Small Grants Program - Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District
- Get reimbursed up to $4,000 for a residential rain garden or $10,000 for an institutional project.
- Reimbursements typically take 4-5 months to be received after submission of the Project Completion Packet.
