Circuit Attorney
The Circuit Attorney is elected by its citizens as the prosecutor for state-level criminal cases in the City of St. Louis. Specialized units include Child Support, Community Affairs, Drug Court, Felony Trial, Victim Services, White Collar Crime and the Warrant Office. -
Circuit Clerk
The Circuit Clerk's Office is responsible for the organization and maintenance of the 5,000,000 court files (1804 - present) in storage and the 40,000 new civil and criminal cases filed every year in the 22nd Judicial Circuit. -
Civilian Oversight Division
The Division of Civilian Oversight is an independent agency where civilians lead investigations on police incidents that directly impact St. Louisans and their neighbors. -
Corrections Division
The Division houses in the City Justice Center citizens who are arrested by the police. -
Detention Facilities Oversight Board
The Board advises the Mayor, Corrections and Public Safety regarding detention facility operations, conditions of detention, and Division of Corrections policies. -
Medical Examiner
The Office of the Medical Examiner is responsible for the investigation of all death which occur as a result of unusual or suspicious circumstances, as well as certain deaths which fall under its jurisdiction by Missouri law (RsMo 58.720 and 58.722). -
